Hollywood, CA (Associated Press) Production on the hit sequel to the popular vampire series Twilight have been halted among allegations of plagerism by young author, Stephenie Meyer.

According to sources, Meyer has been accused of stealing the idea for her popular Twilight series of novels for young adults and teenagers from her college roommate, Heidi Stanton. Stanton, 36, of Salt Lake City, Utah, attended Brigham Young University during the early 1990′s and was for a time during their sophmore year roommates at a campus dormitory with the alleged author, Meyer.

The Twilight novels have sold over 42 million copies worldwide, and have been translated into 37 languages across the globe. Meyer who claims the premise for her popular vampire series came to her in a dream in June of 2003. Just three short months later she had completed the entire novel with very little to no previous writing experience.

Allegations by Stanton, who is a stay at home mother to 4 children in Utah arose after she viewed the movie Twilight for the first time last week, shortly after it was released to DVD format. Stanton claims that she had heard about the novels, but with four small children at home has very little time to read for pleasure or go to the theaters to watch movies.

“Quite frankly, I was shocked when I began watching the movie with my husband last week. I immediately told him that she got that idea from me! I wrote a fictional short story with the same ideas when we were in college together.” stated Stanton.

This is an interview with Robert pattinson did for March issue of Mexico’s Seventeen Magazine. Below are the translation of the question and answers made by Rob & the interviewer. Thanks to Twilight Poison for the whole excerpt.

Where you intrigued by vampires?
Not really. I think it’s weird the obsession some people have with them. I only read Dracula when I was filming the movie.

How do you feel about having so many girls following you around?
It’s scary because it’s something that it hadn’t happened to me before. Twilight fans are very loyal to the book and to Stephenie Meyer. I had a 100% negative reaction from fans when I got the role of Edward.

Why?
For everything. Edward is some sort of perfect creature, the ideal guy. And fans wanted a guy like Leonardo DiCaprio, but Edward is supposed to be 17. When I met Stephenie Meyer, she approved me for the character and literally the next day all the fans changed their minds and accepted me.

It must be hard trying to be so perfect.
It is. First I read the book and I thought there was no way that I could play and create all those perfect descriptions of Edward. Nobody in the world could have brought to life someone so awesome. Then I read the script and auditioned with Kristen, and she acted in a very unexpected way. She gave strength to Bella so that made Edward’s character a little bit more weak, and I took it from there. He, being some kind of demon, is completely taken with her. She dominates him.

According to Jessica Armbruster at City Pages Rob may be at the Minneapolis International Film Festival this Monday for the “How to Be” after-screening party.

The after-screening party is at 9 p.m. this Monday, April 20 in the Clubhouse Lounge of Brit’s Pub (1110 Nicollet Mall, Minneapolis; 612.332.3908). Cast and crew are slated to be in attendance. Robert Pattinson may be in attendance as well. The press release I was sent followed his name with three exclamation points, so make of that what you will. There will also be live music from Fran King and Duncan Maitland as well.

Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong told Spinner.com that he wants Rob Pattinson to play the lead character Christian, from the band’s new album 21st Century “Breakdown.”

The girl that played in ‘Juno’ [Ellen Page] — I think she could be Gloria. The song ‘East Jesus Nowhere’ — I got the title from ‘Juno.’ There was that one part where the mother goes, “Why are you driving out in East Jesus Nowhere to go hang out with that couple.” And it was like, “Oh my god, I’ve heard of Bumf— Egypt, but East Jesus Nowhere? That’s amazing.”

And Christian, I’m gonna say maybe that kid in ‘Twilight’ [Robert Pattinson]. He’s a good actor. There’s still more to come with that kid.

Robert Pattinson really upset his How To Be girlfriend.

Actress Alisah Amah might well be the only girl on the planet who isn’t a massive Rob fan.

Director Oliver Irving explained all to RadarOnline: “”At the time (we were filming) they actually didn’t get on very well.

“I don’t know, Rob must have done something, I don’t know, funny, but I remember she was not happy.

“I think that came through in the film actually, we had wanted to it be warmer but she was very unhappy, she really got wound up by him. It must be very funny for her now.”

Twilight star Robert Pattinson surely knows how to make women go weak in the knees. The actor has stripped off for his new movie Little Ashes. The film is slated to release on May 8, reports the Sun. Little Ashes tells the tale of the relationship between artist Salvador Dali, filmmaker Luis Bunuel and writer Federico Garcia Lorca.

In the movie, Pattinson is playing the surrealist painter, Matthew Mcnulty is portraying Bunuel and Javier Beltran is playing the Spanish poet. Pattinson, who played the role of Edward Cullen in ‘Twilight’, is also known for portraying Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
