Robert Pattinson has captured the hearts of an untold number of fans with his portrayal of Edward Cullen in “Twilight.”

Rob’s brooding good looks and the film, about eternal love and teen angst, are strikingly similar to two monumental teen idols from previous generations – James Dean and Marlon Brando – who starred in similar movies.

Every other generation or so, an actor comes along who captures the imagination of their contemporaries. Brando and Dean were those actors in the 1950s.

Rob is having the same breakout success in “Twilight.” Ironically, both Brando and Dean became international sensations in coming-of-age movies about teenage angst in tumultuous times.

Twilight fans will be disappointed to learn that there will NOT be a fifth movie in the Twilight series. Yet. Sources tell RadarOnline.com that “It is absolutely not true,” that the fourth book Breaking Dawn will be split into two movies, denying fans another chance to see their beloved Edward on the big screen.

The newest addition to the Twilight family, Boo Boo Stewart, told Access Hollywood that he was signed on for three more movies (if you’re counting that means Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and an unnamed third) but our source insists that this is not the case…AT THIS POINT! So we’re going to hold our vampire breath, hopefully not for long, and keep our fingers crossed that the Breaking Dawn screenplay turns into two vampire movies.

What’s with the total lack of Robert Pattinson lately? He’s all over this column, ‘course, but it’s his own studio that’s leaving him in the dust, surprised? All we’re seeing recently is dee-lish doll Kristen Stewart paired with Robbie-wannabe Taylor Lautner—on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, on the New Moon poster and trailer, sitting next to him at Comic-Con and the Teen Choice Awards, with Rob either MIA or brushed to the side. Summit is seriously trying to make Taystew happen.

And now in a new interview, Tay and Kris say they’re “kind of addicted” to American Idol and they’d love to perform on the show together. What song did they say they’d love to duet on?

Taylor Swift’s “Love Story.” Ha! Summit would love to make you think it’s ’cause K.S. and T.L. are madly crushing on one another, but we know it’s ’cause Tay Lautner developed a li’l crush on Ms. Swift while smooching for the upcoming flick Valentine’s Day.

ROBERT PATTINSON has refuted reports his co-star KRISTEN STEWART was left fuming after pictures of the TWILIGHT hunk posing with stunning MEGAN FOX were published in the tabloid press.

The British actor has been at the centre of speculation he is dating his co-star in real life, after snaps of the pair supposedly kissing at a Kings of Leon gig in Canada were printed last week (15Aug09).

The speculation was heightened further when fellow Twilight actor Peter Facinelli’s wife Jennie Garth told reporters that Pattinson is dating a co-star.

Dakota Fanning arrived back in Vancouver today to work on Eclipse. Looked happy and excited, signed autographs for fans.

As already mentioned, Vancouver is now a hotspot for LA based paps, numbering over 20 as of today with 7 new arrivals. Is that legal? Kristen Stewart hit up the hair salon yesterday and was followed by 10 cars, and they waited for her outside to come out. The LA pap style is the scrum. There’s a difference between the scrum and the long lens. Most celebrities, obviously, with the exception of Ebola and Jessica Biel who aren’t so discerning because they just want to be seen, period, prefer the long lens, from across the street, so that they can walk undisturbed, which is why last Spring, before the arrival of so many photogs from so many agencies, Kristen and her costars were able to stroll around downtown without security.
