There’s still about a week of shooting to go on Eclipse the third installment of the über-hot Twilight Saga, but that didn’t stop 500 people from celebrating the near-completion of the vampire flick on Saturday night in Vancouver. And while the film’s marquee star, Robert Pattinson, managed to put in an appearance, his leading lady Kristen Stewart was noticeably absent.

The bash, hosted by Eclipse director David Slade, was held at the Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park. And part of the reason for throwing the party before filming is actually completed, explained Slade to partygoers, is that he had to wrap filming on five of the movie’s actors today — including Elizabeth Reaser, Kellan Lutz and Taylor Lautner — so the fictional town of Forks, Wash., suddenly got a lot less crowded.

RobPattzNews has confirmed ‘Eclipse’ wrap party for cast and crew was held at Vancouver Aquarium last night! Hopefully there will be pictures coming in!

Robert Pattinson finds himself facing the same mountain that Daniel Radcliffe has begun to successfully scale: living down the pop-culture mantle cast upon him. Unlike Radcliffe however, Pattinson has wisely chosen to start the process with all due haste so as not to be forever known as “that Twilight vampire guy”. However, before Twilight was even a twinkle on his horizon, he made The Haunted Airman, a made-for-television movie first aired in the UK in 2006 and canned until this 2009 release when the American audience will get another taste of pre-Twilight Pattinson.

Robert Pattinson has revealed that Hollywood legend James Dean served as one of his inspirations for his character in the “Twilight” franchise — Edward Cullen.

”‘Rebel Without A Cause’ was a big influence on the first [‘Twilight’ film],” he told USA Today. “It influenced the hairdo and stuff.”

And although the love story between Bella Swan and Edward hits a snag in the upcoming film, “New Moon,” due out on November 20, the overall story arc is similar to one of James’ most famous roles.

“In lots of ways, it has a very similar character arc: An everyday girl brings this relatively strange individual out of his slump,” he said.

While everyone seems to know his name now, Robert revealed he used to get called by his character’s moniker.

With actors shooting the third Twilight movie, Eclipse, finish filming today Robert Pattinson won’t be left with nothing to do.

The actor is getting ready to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres show in an episode to air on November 20 – the same day that Twilight sequel New Moon is released in the UK.

But don’t worry about him not making his home country premiere – Rob will film the episode a few days earlier.

He’s also set to appear on MTV on October 30 as well as attending the world premiere in Los Angeles with costars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner on November 16.

Director David Slade started sending actors home today as filming for the new movie, due out next year, wraps up.

David posted on his Twitter page a few hours ago: “Best wishes now and into the future to all those who finished work tonight. Just a few more days shooting left. Finish line is approaching.”

But he’s not leaving us in the dark during the eight months of post-production.

He went on to tweet: “Will keep tweeting through post… Its not over until the film is in cinemas.”

Carlisle Cullen actor Peter Facinelli celebrated the end of the shoot on his page.

He said: “All good things must come to an end. Wrapped on Eclipse tonight.”
