Robert Pattinson claims he is not at all romantic.
The Twilight star and teen heartthrob – who will reprise the role of vampire hunk Edward Cullen in New Moon later this month – has told People he doesn’t have the guts to make romantic gestures.
Robert said: “I can’t think of a single romantic thing that I’ve ever done, I would never serenade someone to be romantic – you have to have so much balls to do that.”He revealed: “I put a flower in someone’s locker when I was 15 years old, this girl called Maria. She thought that it was someone else and the other guy claimed it as well, which is great.”
But the 23-year-old British actor revealed he enjoys soppy movies and doesn’t think they’re just for girls.
He said: “It’s like saying guys can’t appreciate romance. I’ve watched Titanic and I didn’t think, ‘Oh, this is a girl’s film.’
“I felt like the storyline in New Moon is very heartbreaking and true. I didn’t think I was doing something just for the sake of romance.”
Robert, rumoured to be dating his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, also revealed he has a lot in common with his character.
He said: “I get quite obsessive about things, and possessive as well. I have very, very specific ideas about how I want to do my work and how I want to be perceived, to the point of ridiculousness sometimes.
“I don’t listen to anyone else. That’s why I don’t have a publicist – I can’t stand it if someone’s trying to tell me to do something which might be a mistake.”
