Robert Pattinson was the latest in “New Moon” stars to stop by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” for a chat with the lovely host. On the episode, which was pre-taped (he is a busy guy after all), our beloved R-Pattz discussed house hunting, fans getting naked and Canadian-American geography. His entire family was there to witness the fun, though they sat in a makeshift section to the side of the actual audience. “I like how they’re corralled,” Rob joked. “That’s the way I like to keep my family. Just, like, in a pen.”
Rob said “New Moon” mania has brought him to five or six countries in the past week, but as we know already, it’s pretty much impossible to him to actually leave his hotel room. He told Ellen that if he could do anything for a day, he’d try to find a house. “It’s very, very difficult, I always think, just the actual process of looking for a house. If someone’s following you it defeats the entire purpose of trying to find a secret house.” Thankfully, Ellen is a pro at house hunting. “My favorite thing to do in the world is find houses… Just tell me what you’re looking for and I will find you a house… Not now. They will think I bought it and they don’t care.”
Among Rob’s craziest fan encounters was when someone brought a baby to the “Twilight” set and passed him around to have photos taken with the cast. He joked, “Someone gave me a baby. To keep. And I’ve kept him, and I renamed him.” He also discussed the fact that parents seem totally OK with their children camping out for premieres and signings. “It’s fine, ‘Twilight’ will take care of them. We are always there for you.”
Later, Ellen thoughtfully showed shirtless photos of Rob from an old modeling shoot (“I know exactly what picture’s coming,” he said), and got him to admit that he would consider going nude for a film in the future. He also talked about his bare chest. “I saw an interview the other day with a fictitious quote saying that I was proud of my abs. I was like, ‘I would never say that in an interview!’ I actually saw the film yesterday and I was like, ‘Yeah. This is the first time I’ve ever been proud my physical appearance in my entire life.”
Rob’s nakedness wasn’t the only nudity discussed. Rob talked about a crazy fan moment when he told a woman to take her clothes off at an autograph signing. “I immediately regretted saying that. I was like ‘God, I sound like I’m actually just abusing my position.’ It was after a period of signing 500 signatures and you always have kind of 10 seconds with each person and nobody will say anything, and I got a little bit bored with just saying ‘Yeah, hi, how’re you doing.’” She asked what she could do to get his attention, and he said, “Um, just take your clothes off.” And “she stood there and like frantically started taking her clothes off and got dragged out of the room by security. I’ve never felt more terrible.”
What did you think of Rob’s “Ellen” interview? Did he go too far with that fan at the autograph signing? And how adorable were those baby pictures that Ellen got her hands on?
