« Robert Pattinson pines for home | Potter star says Twilight’s Pattinson ‘coping well’ »Discuss: Does Robert Pattinson Have a Future in Hollywood? In only five years of acting, Robert Pattinson has already been apart of two massive movie franchises, “Harry Potter” and “Twilight.” The second “Twilight” installment just broke records for best midnight run and best single day gross. The film also took third place on the best opening weekend list. Clearly Pattinson is one of the biggest stars in the world right now. But will this fame last after the “Twilight” franchise comes to an end? “High School Musical” did well, but Zac Efron is not highly in-demand. And neither is “Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe. There are many things working against Pattinson. First, he has been signing on for lead roles in very low-profile projects that will likely never get more than a limited release in US. Second, he will probably get typecast, since there are at least four “Twilight” movies. And finally, he has yet to prove that he can bring in an audience that isn’t comprised of 12 year-old girls. With all those things, it still only takes for one big director to cast Pattinson and make him a real star. And even though I don’t see anything interesting about the “Twilight” movies, I still think that out of Efron, Radcliffe and Pattinson, Pattinson is the one who could last in Hollywood. Question: After “Twilight” is done, will Pattinson’s career end or will he go on to become an in-demand actor in Hollywood? Source: WorstPreviews.com
