Troubled pop singer Amy Winehouse may want to avoid rehab, but she has no trouble cavorting with the undead.
The British chanteuse, whose battles with booze, drugs and on-again-off-again hubby Balke Fielder-Civil have provided torrid tales for tabloid drool, is apparently a Twi-hard of extreme degree.
Not only is she a constant fan of sultry Twilight vampire Robert Pattinson, she even plans to ring in the New Year with a blood-stained bash.
Winehouse is especially intrigued by the sexual powers exuded by the vampire clan, reports say.“Amy thinks Robert is cool and loves the sexuality around vampires,” a source close to the 26-year-old singer told Britain’s Daily Star. So cool, in fact, she plans to throw a New Year’s Eve party themed on the Twilight series. “She’s planning on having a huge blood and guts vampire party on New Year’s eve at her house,” Amy’s pal told the paper.
Meanwhile, Pattinson himself, still in the throes of publicity hawking for the Vancouver-shot smash hit Twilight Saga: New Moon, has told Time Magazine he has no trouble taking a back seat to his fictional alter-ego. “No matter how famous I get as an individual, it’s always evened — or even surpassed — by the fame of Edward Cullen. That’s got to mean something. I don’t mind that. That’s just the way it is.”
He also speculates on why super fans like Amy dig the dark Twilight vibe. “There’s no living up to it. I think the major fear is just fighting too hard against it… but I don’t feel the need to fight against it. I’ve never tried to pander to any kind of audience. I’ve tried to make the films as intelligent and uncheesy as you could. And I’ve tried to make them the best they can be.”
And of course, what would an interview with RPattz be without the inevitable question about dealing with fame. He’s jake with it except for one nasty side-effect: “You will get followed. It’s the following that’s the worst part.”
His cinematic pal Taylor Lautner’s sizzling role in New Moon just may give him a piece of the unwanted Pattinson attention from the paps and the tabs.
The cover of Rolling Stone showing the very moist and very cut actor won’t help any cause for obscurity. His star can only shine brighter with that buff bod.
Have abs, will travel.
