The thought of Robert Pattinson getting hurt is just too much too bear, isn’t it?

But that’s exactly what could have happened if anything had gone wrong during his and Daniel Cudmore’s big, violent fight scene in New Moon.

Cudmore, the Tom Brady-esque hunkster who plays Volturi vampire Felix, said some of the stunts got a little too close for comfort when he and Pattinson went at it.

The Twi-hards turned out in record numbers early Friday morning to catch the first showings of “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” outperforming boy wizard “Harry Potter” who previously held the title of midnight box office king.

According to box office numbers released by Summit Entertainment, “New Moon” pulled in an astounding estimated gross of $26.27 million, while playing at 3,514 theaters.

Fans showed up to theaters across the country in their best Edward, Bella and Jacob costumes. They were also not shy about screaming and hollering with giddy joy at the appearance of a shirtless Taylor Lautner and the first sight of Robert Pattinson on the big screen.

The New Moon heartthrob has fans salivating over his every move, but he still has secrets he’s been hiding — until now.

1. He wanted to grow up to be Jay-Z
On one of his first trips to New York, Rob visited the Brooklyn projects where Jay-Z grew up. “When I was 14, I fronted a rap trio,” Rob told The New York Times. His claims his group was “pretty hard-core for three private school kids from suburban London.”

2. He says he doesn’t think about his hair — ever.
Rob’s messy, longish hair has become his trademark, but he claims he puts almost no effort into it. “I’ve never really had a specific look in mind. It is what it is,” he told Fandango.com. “It’s so funny, a friend of mine from London came over and said, “Why is everyone going on about your hair all the time?” Everyone has hair like that in London.”

With “New Moon” hitting theaters this week, it seems fitting that the stars are already starting to reveal tidbits about the upcoming “Eclipse” flick. And if fans thought Bella gets taken for a ride in “New Moon,” they are in for a surprise once they hit theaters next year.

“I think Bella’s little bit of treachery in the third one will be … I think it’s going to be a good scene,” he told MTV News on the red carpet at the NYC screening of “New Moon.”

While the “Twilight Saga” has catapulted Pattinson to mega-stardom, he isn’t resting on his laurels. The trailer for his new film “Remember Me” came out Thursday (November 19), and it seems to have an equally drama-filled relationship — even if Pattinson doesn’t see the parallels. “It’s not very similar to ‘Twilight,’ ” he said. “[But] hopefully it will get the same fanbase.”

Robert Pattinson goes from vampire to vision in “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”

The British actor, 23, not only plays brooding vampire hunk Edward Cullen in the eagerly awaited sequel, opening today, he also appears as a flickering apparition to his human ex-girlfriend, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).

“Those scenes were the hardest scenes,” Pattinson said in a news conference at the Four Seasons Hotel. “It’s not Edward. It’s a manifestation of Bella’s loneliness and desperation. … I asked Kristen, ‘How would you play it?’ It’s her opinion. So, that was hard.”
