Robert Pattinson is ‘proud’ of his slender figure.

The ‘Twilight’ heartthrob – who plays the role of Edward Cullen in the vampire movies – said he had to work hard to hone his physique because he was desperate to be involved in all the action parts of the hit film franchise.

The 23-year-old actor said: ‘When I got the part, I started training because I wanted to do my own stunts – and some of them were pretty extreme.

It is difficult to handle hordes of fans when you are Robert Pattinson, but the ‘Twilight’ hunk is secretly thrilled by it because passing through them makes him feel like living in a “war zone”.

The 23-year-old star has struggled to deal with losing his privacy to the paparazzi and mob of girls following his every move since rising to fame as the star of the hit vampire franchise.

However, he is now finding some fun in the fury because running from fans makes him feel like a warrior, Harper’s Bazaar magazine reported.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner made fans go wild in Munich, Germany today on tour for The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”

The stars of New Moon will be heading back to the States to wind up their world wide promotional tour.

On Monday, Robert, Kristen and Taylor will be joining their fellow co-stars for a big premiere in Los Angeles and a mega talk show blitz leading to the New Moon theatrical release date of November 20th.

The Olympic Hall shook. For some 15,000 young people, there was no holding back, when, after hours of waiting, entered the main characters of the vampire film series “Twilight,” the stage. As if on command thousands of cell phones and cameras were shooting into the air. The screaming was deafening. Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, which are among the currently most popular teen stars of the world, came to Munich in order to advertise for the second part of the best-selling film, “New Moon – bite at lunch hour.”

With a photo of their favorite actor in the hands of little Emily explained the phenomenon, which is happening around them: “These are our idols for generations,” she said near the stage.
