STAR of the Twilight films franchise Robert Pattinson has reportedly become embroiled in a drug scandal involving bags of Twilight-themed heroin with pictures of the cast on them, reported entertainment media on Tuesday.

According to entertainment website TMZ, the drugs were seized in West Hempstead, Long Island in New York, and came in bags with cartoon pictures of Twilight characters, including Pattinson, on them.

Robert Pattinson’s next non-vampire movie doesn’t open for another four months but that didn’t stop Summit Entertainment from riding on ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ buzz and releasing the trailer for his romantic drama ‘Remember Me’ a few days before the Nov. 20 release of the latest big screen offering from Stephenie Meyer’s best-selling series.

The British heartthrob puts his charisma and good looks to use as a brooding, misunderstood rebel without much of a cause except to reconnect with his distant father (Pierce Brosnan) following a family tragedy, and, of course, to get the girl.

With ‘New Moon’ pulling in unbelievable numbers in its first day, and fans camping out for half a week to get a ticket, it’s pretty clear that there is no stopping this vampire juggernaut. The third chapter in the ‘Twilight’ series, ‘Eclipse’ is in post-production, and already, its stars are getting recognized on the street. Popeater got a chance to chat with Kirsten Prout, who plays Lucy, one of the vamps who turned Jasper (Jackson Rathbone) back in 1863.

Prout told us that the non-disclosure agreement she signed was as big as her head, but she did give us a few details (she’s going to be in period clothing) and told us that her role is going to be a little different than it is in the novel. She also weighed in on the Vatican’s condemnation of the series, the trash talk from Miley Cyrus and the amazing amount of attention paid to the Kristin Stewart/Robert Pattinson romance rumors.

After this weekend’s record-shattering opening, “New Moon” is now officially the biggest film of 2009. In a few months, it will inevitably become one of the biggest DVD releases of 2010.

“There will be a commentary track,” Weitz revealed, saying that he’ll soon head into the recording booth with his three big stars, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. “It’ll just be us riffing off each other in our intimate way,” he grinned. “We kind of like each other, so that should be fun.”

We’ve all heard that Robert Pattinson doesn’t change his clothes more than once a week and is kind of smelly (just Google “Robert Pattinson smells” if you don’t believe us), but it turns out it’s all a strategic move to foil the paparazzi, as we learned at the Cinema Society and D&G-hosted New Moon premiere on Thursday.

Nurse Jackie star Peter Facinelli, who plays Robert Pattinson’s father in the Twilight movies, takes credit (blame) for Robert Pattinson’s rumored body odor problem. “He’s smart, because if he doesn’t changes his clothes and the paparazzi get pictures of him in the same outfit all the time, then they can’t sell the pictures,” Facinelli told us at Thursday’s Cinema Society screening of Twilight Saga: New Moon. “That’s what I said he should do; I said, ‘You should not change your clothes, this way, how are they going to sell the picture of you in the same outfit all the time, because it will look like it was from the same batch.’” Father knows best.
