PIERCE Brosnan had to leave his ego at the door when it came to filming a movie with Robert Pattinson.

The former James Bond star realized he was no longer popular with the ladies when was completely ignored by all the female fans surrounding the set of Remember Me in favor of the Twilight hunk.

“I have no remaining ego whatsoever after shooting Remember Me with Robert last year,” says Brosnan. “His trailer was down one end of the avenue, surrounded by girls, and mine was a very quiet little haven of solitude at the other end.

“Even when we were shooting in the heart of New York, I could actually hear when Rob left his trailer; the girls would be going so bonkers!”

Jude Law mentions Robert Pattinson on an article on him from Monsters & Critics.

“If I have a look around at the moment I feel great relief because finally others are entering the limelight. Men like Robert Pattinson must now play the Adonis. For me it was always a restraint, a restriction.”

With Sundance still in full swing, MTV got a chance to catch up with actor Chris Cooper in Park City and ask him about what is sure to be one of the bigger movies of the year: “Remember Me.” Though the film isn’t at the film festival, Chris had a few things to share about working with Robert Pattinson.

He said having NYU’s campus nearby meant a lot of young female fans came to the set for a chance to see RPattz.

“He was doing scenes with a crowd of people 30 feet away from him and the paparazzi would not stop clicking the camera and there was a couple of hot, heated periods with the director [Allen Coulter] with that kind of intrusion,” Chris said. “I know at his age, no way I could have handled it.”

As for the blogosphere, Orlando says he keeps out of it because he read one a long time ago and “couldn’t believe how nasty it was.” Mr. Bloom reminisced about his start in Hollywood and how his popularity exploded after Lord of the Rings. How did he cope with it? “I kept myself busy with work but now, it’s crazy! Look at that guy Robert Pattinson. The poor guy can’t go anywhere now!”

  Peter Facinelli: Edward, for a bunch of reasons, if I were younger would be a great character to play. If I couldn’t play Edward I’m quite happy playing the dad. I don’t think the apple falls far from the tree.
• Team Taylor or Team Robert?
  Peter Facinelli: haha – I gotta go Team Robert. he’s my family. I love Taylor, but Rob plays my son so I got to keep it in the family.

But as far as the real actors in the film — I think they’re both immensely talented and I support both of them.

But Robert Pattinson?

It’s true. Well sort of true.

News yesterday (January 23) said that the Twilight star is in talks to play a a veterinarian student who studies at Cornell. This higher education stint is where the film “Water for Elephants” begins.

Based on Sara Gruen’s best seller, the novel adaptation reportedly brings Pattinson together with Sean Penn in the upcoming big screen tale about a young man who looses his parents to a car accident, and subsequently, leaves Ithaca to join the circus.

Yes, peanuts are involved in this highly anticipated film where Academy Award-winning Penn takes the role of a very screwed up animal trainer. The role of Sean’s wife is being played by sweetie Reese Witherspoon.

We can’t help but think The Sun wanted news about Simon Cowell, wanted news about Robert Pattinson, and, when nothing materialized, decided to throw the two together.

Today came a story (picked up everywhere) claiming Cowell has approached Pattinson “to sign a major record deal,” and that Pattinson “can basically write his own cheque.” What’s more, The Sun insists, Cowell’s offer has triggered a bidding war among record labels for Pattinson’s musical talents.

“Twilight fans are such an excitable bunch I’m wary of even letting this out the bag for fear of the hysteria it will unleash,” the item’s author begins, immediately before stirring the pot with no word from Pattinson’s side or Cowell’s. In fact, the only “source” who does speak supplies the story with an easy exit, saying, “Robert is reluctant to be turned into a pop star… He is a bit wary of signing up with Cowell who is, of course, associated with X Factor and pop.”

Rumor has it, Robert Pattinson has been approached by “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell to ink a major record deal. It is also reported that Simon is not the only person who is interested to sign the “Twilight” actor as there are other recording companies which pursue him.

A bidding war reportedly has taken place with the Edward Cullen depicter being reluctant to seal a deal with Simon. “He is a bit wary of signing up with Cowell who is, of course, associated with ‘The X Factor’ and pop,” a source said as quoted by The Sun.

Singing is not something new for Robert Pattinson as he has contributed two songs in the first installment of “Twilight” movie series. Earlier in March 2009, he revealed his desire to release an indie album, saying he is not afraid if the record fails because he “got nothing to lose.”
