Robert Pattinson, internationally known for his role as a brooding sparkly vampire in The Twilight Saga, is five spots ahead of The President of the United States of America Barack Obama, with over double the amount of votes. We find it hard to believe the majority of TIME.com’s readers are horny teenage girls, making these results infinitely more disturbing. We love RPattz as much as the next drooling lady fan, but we hardly think he’s influenced people to do much more than don his face on their crotch.

Rob is featured in this week’s “Klick!” in Sweden. He is this week’s “kex” which basically means he is this week’s “hottie” (of course he’s every week’s hottie to us.

In “Remember me”, Robert Pattinson, 23, has Swedish Lena Olin as his mother, Pierce Brosnan as his father and the “Lost”-actress Emelie de Ravin as his girlfriend. With those surrounding him and being named as our new James Dean, he is obviously this weeks Kex!
- Thanks, I guess…

Last time we met you said you hadn’t been affected by your fame since you were spending most of your time making movies. Has that changed or are you still able to go to the pub with your friends and have a beer?
- Working in England is the opposite of working in the States. When I was having dinner at a London pub the other day, a waitress came up to me and said how much I looked like the guy from “Twilight”. She said, “You could be his brother”.
- Other who recognize me in London are almost a little embarrassed and don’t even want to look at me.

You’re friends with Twilight star Robert Pattinson. How long have you two known each other?

We went to school together, and then we lived together for a bit, so we’ve been friends and more for what feels like our whole lives.

Tom’s face suddenly stills and he hurriedly adds more:

I mean, we are friends. He’s my best friend, and that’s it. He’s like a brother to me, you know? We have the same group of friends, and I’m friends with all of them, not just him.

Have you been more than friends with him?

(pause) I really don’t want to talk about him. It’s just weird, you know? I want to respect his privacy, since he doesn’t have much of it anymore. I mean, I’d do the same for any of my friends.

With few exceptions, Robert Pattinson has spent much of his career playing the awkward guy, whether it’s the quirky Salvador Dali in Little Ashes, the self-obsessed Art in How to Be, or even Twilight’s Edward, where he enters into a relationship with a girl he wants to eat. But Bel Ami is the big role that just might define Pattinson’s career. In the adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s novel, he plays Georges Duroy, a loverboy who achieves Parisian power by manipulating a long string of rich and powerful mistresses. There’s really no room for awkwardness when seduction is the name of the game.

The reason the film’s ending merits discussion — really, more than the rest of “Remember Me,’’ an intensely mopey saga of young love in Manhattan — is that it uses a major historical event in a way that deeply moves some audiences while deeply offending others. (I’m serious: If you don’t want to know what happens, stop now. The exit’s that way.) And it raises the question once again of when — and how, and if — disaster can or should be repurposed for our entertainment.

As Hollywood’s hottest property, Robert Pattinson doesn’t need to sit around waiting for the phone to ring.

Sifting through a mountain of scripts and trying to navigate a satisfying career path, while everyone wants a piece of him, will be a more familiar scenario.

With the whole world watching his every move, how did the star of the Twilight films decide to follow the smash hit New Moon with humble independent movie Remember Me?

Fairly easily, it turns out.

“I never like anything, so it’s quite easy to decide what to do,” he admits, candidly.

Move over Hugh Grant and Daniel Craig. Right now, Robert Pattinson is the biggest British movie star in Hollywood. Since hit vampire films Twilight and New Moon, R-Patz mania has exploded. Once, girls left notes on his car windscreen. Now they set themselves on fire outside his hotel.

“You start getting a bit paranoid,” he admits. “Looking around when you’re walking down the street, in case you get mobbed by teenage girls.”

When Pattinson, 23, shot his latest film, romantic drama Remember Me, in New York, the hysteria almost killed him. Spotted by a bunch of ‘Twi-hards’ (as his obsessive fans are known), he crossed the road – narrowly missing being hit by a taxi. Everywhere, fans crowded to watch him shoot scenes with co-star Emilie de Ravin.
