Here’s an excerpt interview with Shiloh Fernandez mentioning Twilight & Robert Pattinson.

JACOBS: How close were you to getting the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight?

FERNANDEZ: You’ll have to ask Catherine. It appears that I was closer than I maybe remember. I did have a screen test and signed contracts and all that. But the thing that came out of it, whether I was second runner-up or not, was that Catherine and I liked each other, and she was gracious enough to keep me in mind for other things. I really don’t know how close I was to getting the part in Twilight. Did I want the part? I did. But I don’t think I was right or ready for it. And I don’t think anybody knew that it was going to be what it’s turned out to be. When Riding Hood came along, I thought it was a much better fit.

JACOBS: Is it strange to consider Robert Pattinson’s life? How that madness could have been yours?

FERNANDEZ: I don’t think it ever could have been mine. I think it would have been really, really bad for me. He seems like a really neat guy who’s handled himself amazingly well. I’m very grateful at this point that I didn’t get it. I remember when my agent called to tell me I didn’t get it. And then the next day I had an audition for something else. [laughs] When it came out, I was doing a movie with Ashley Greene, who’s in Twilight, and we went to the movies and watched it. It is a funny experience but I can’t say that it was one of the movies I was heartbroken over not getting.

Listen up, Twi-hards. We just got some brand new Breaking Dawn news about that super steamy sex scene between Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart!

“It’s definitely sexy,” Jackson Rathbone told us at Leeza Gibbons’ Dare2Care Pre-Oscar Cocktail party of Edward and Bella’s highly-anticipated onscreen love-making. “It definitely qualifies as shmexaaay.”

How sexy?

Robert Pattinson has adopted a puppy because he is lonely.

The 24-year-old heartthrob says friends refuse to visit him when filming in remote locations, so he’s adopted a four-legged friend for company instead.

He said: “I know it’s sad. A lot of actors have a bunch of people who kind of just go up and stay with them for like two months, like an entourage. But my friends, their egos are too big.

“They’d be like, ‘I’m not part of your entourage. I’ll stay in a free hotel for a bit if it’s in New York or Los Angeles but I’m not going to come out to some random town in the sticks.’

Legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz shot pics of the superstar for the mag’s cover story, which is tied to the release of Pattinson’s upcoming film Water for Elephants.
As for the four-foot reptile, Pattinson’s alligator pal is a nod to the Louisiana set of Breaking Dawn.

In the profile, sources tell Gossip Cop, Pattinson does not discuss his relationship with Kristen Stewart.

Mostly, we hear that Pattinson comes across as a genuinely good guy and reluctant star.

Vanity Fair will be on newsstands on March 3.

Reese Witherspoon is about to marry her own leading man, but the Oscar winner admits to enjoying another hunk’s charms on screen.

“I am so lucky,” Witherspoon gushes to Entertainment Tonight of her love scenes with Robert Pattinson in their upcoming movie Water for Elephants. “He’s so amazing and wonderful and sweet and just the nicest guy too, so you can just add that to the soup.”

“I mean, he’s just so good looking and he’s a really nice person,” she continues.

That said, Witherspoon admitted the pair have a more humorous than amorous relationship off screen. “We’ll probably just laugh the whole time, because all we do is just laugh and joke around,” Reese says.

Robert Pattinson will attend the 2011 Oscar awards without girlfriend Kristen Stewart. Rumors earlier this week claimed Rob and Kristen were set to hit Hollywood’s biggest bash together. However, new reports state that Stewart’s work schedule is too hectic, and she can not make an appearance.

Does this leave Robert Pattinson to walk the red carpet alone? Maybe not. The buzz is that Rob and his Water For Elephants co-star, Reese Witherspoon, will hit the Oscar Awards together.

It seems that Pattinson and Witherspoon are slated to present one of the coveted awards together, in a tactic to further promote their upcoming film. While it will be great to see Rob and Reese on stage together, no doubt looking amazing, fans will wish it was Kristen at Robert’s side.

“Twilight” fans can only hope that one day Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart will attend a major Hollywood event together. It seems that this hot young couple are always so busy trying to hide their relationship. Hopefully, one day they actually have time to enjoy it.
