Gossip Cop has confirmed that the Twilight star has joined The Rover, a film that follows one man’s pursuit through the Australian Outback of the men who stole his car.

His rep confirms the casting to Gossip Cop.

Pattinson will play a character named Reynolds in director David Michod’s movie, which is set in the near future.

Late Wednesday, it was announced that Pattinson will star in Mission: Blacklist.

Embankment Films, the international sales and distribution company recently launched by international sales veterans Tim Haslam and Hugo Grumbar will begin selling the film at the upcoming Cannes Film Market.

”Mission: Blacklist” is a psychological thriller that details the true, inside story of the search for Saddam Hussein and the interrogator, Eric Maddox, who spearheaded his capture.“This movie is a gripping, edge of your seat thriller,” says Dinerstein. “I have been inspired by Robert and Jean-Stéphane’s dedication to tell this story in the most authentic way possible, and I’m thrilled to add Hugo and Tim to our team.”

Pattinson can next be seen in David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis,” which is premiering at the Cannes Film Festival in May. Sauvaire’s last film, “Johnny Mad Dog,” premiered at the 2008
Cannes Film Festival where it won the Prize of Hope.

WME represents Pattinson, Jendresen, and Sauvaire. Pattinson is managed by 3 Arts Entertainment and represented by the Curtis Brown Group in the UK. Sauvaire is managed by Anonymous Content. The deal was brokered by WME Global’s Graham Taylor and Deborah McIntosh and Preferred Content’s Kevin Iwashina and Christine D’Souza. WME Global and Preferred Content will be corepresenting the North American rights.

There’s been no mention of Kristen Stewart being considered for the film. Wonder how she feels about her boyfriend possibly starring in a new wildly successful film franchise without her–and, on top of all that, alongside her alleged arch-nemesis Jennifer Lawrence?It will be exciting to see if this rumor is true. Major flooding will certainly happen on May 29, in the two ‘Cosmopolis’ screenings in Lisbon. One will take place at Centro Cultural de Belém, while the other will be open to the public, and Pattinson (and other actors, including Paul Giamatti) will be with the fans. The ‘team’ also includes the filmmaker David Cronenberg and writer Don DeLillo, whose novel is the basis of the film.

“I hope the fans are more civilized here,” said Paulo Baulo to the CM, acknowledging that Pattinson’s stay in ”Cannes is a concern,” since his last time in the French city the reactions were described as Beatles-like. In the film which opens in 30 theaters on May 31st, Pattinson plays a character very different from the vampire ‘Edward Cullen’, star of Twilight. This is the odyssey of a Manhattan mogul that runs through the city (although shooting has taken place in Toronto and not in New York) in his limousine.

‘Cosmopolis’ wants the Palme d’Or

‘Cosmopolis’ is in a list of candidates for the Palme d’Or in the official competition of the Cannes Film Festival, revealed yesterday. According to Paulo Branco, producer of the film where David Cronenberg has made a metaphor about the capitalism crisis, to find yourself in this list ”will only provide visibility throughout the world” to the project. Besides the 11th film produced by Branco candidate for the top prize at Cannes, the festival which runs from May 16-27 features works by Walter Salles (“On the Road”), Leos Carax (“Holy Motors”), Michael Haneke (“Amour”) and Wes Anderson, whose ‘Moonrise Kingdom’ opens an exhibition.

Greetings from Los Angeles, where we’re hard at work on BREAKING DAWN, PART TWO. It’s truly crazy to think that it’s been a year since we wrapped production in Vancouver, since for those of us in the editing room the work has never stopped. 

A film is a lot like a puzzle, with each piece – each shot, no matter how brief – needing to fit exactly with the ones around it. Our Part Two puzzle is finally coming into full view, and in a few weeks we’ll be heading back north to pick up some additional shots – the last tiny missing pieces. We’re not shooting any new scenes or dialogue, just some technical work with some of our cast and stunt actors.

I am really looking forward to being back on set with some of the friends I’ve made on my Twilight journey, like the great Guillermo Navarro, our cinematographer, and his crew. And yes, Rob and Kristen will be there too, to pop in those gold contacts one last time… 

I’m excited to report that before too long we’ll have another trailer for you to decode. And wait until you see the first posters — they’re unlike any “Twilight” images you’ve seen before. And then November 16th will be upon us and the final film will be yours!

The Twilight star, 22, reckons that Rob needs to sort it out and stop pigging out on junk food and beers and work off some of his extra weight. Recent pictures of the British actor paddle boarding in Malibu emerged last week, and while he’s certainly no porker – he did look as if he’d managed to pack on a few pounds from his days as Edward Cullen in the hit franchise.

”Robert’s put on nearly 10lbs eating cheeseburgers and drinking beer while he’s not been working,” a source told the Daily Star. ”Kristen’s told him to pull himself together. He hates the gym, so she’s encouraged him to take up paddle surfing to try and work off the excess calories.”
The couple recently celebrated Kristen’s 22nd birthday, and the actor gave his leading lady film-making equipment for birthday gift.

”Robert has been searching shops in Hollywood for movie equipment,” an insider told the Daily Star. ”Kristen’s always dreamed of being behind the camera. He also organised a big banquet.”

But don’t expect Rob to be rocking a six-pack like his former co-star Taylor Lautner, because he thinks that’s a little beyond his comfort zone.

”I’d have to make a lifestyle change if I wanted to do shirtless acting. But it seems like every single actor in the world is doing a ‘Taylor Lautner’ scene – it’s crazy,” he said.

”They have a scene where they walk out with like a 12-pack. It’s like, ‘Really? You’re playing a normal guy! That doesn’t make any sense.’ But that’s a prerequisite of being an actor. Or you can get fat!”

 The unlikely outing soon sparked rumors that Pattinson was cheating on his rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart.

Multiple onlookers, however, confirmed that the twosome were “totally innocent” and that there was “nothing more to it.”

Furthermore, Pattinson and Lohan were both invited to an intimate gathering by the owner of the bar, which still hasn’t opened to public yet. The nightclub itself is opened by the same people behind Harvard & Stone, a lounge where Pattinson and Stewart as well as Lohan usually hang out.

Not anytime soon! The source tells us Rob and Kristen “love their privacy and would only reveal things about their relationship … when Twilight is officially over.”

As for whether or not wedding bells are in their future, the source tells us Rob and Kristen are more likely to go the route of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. That iconic Hollywood couple has been together since 1983, but never officially tied the knot, despite having a child together.

In the movie, Reese plays a character called Marlena, the circus’ star, engaged to an animal trainer.

“He’s great. And oh my God, so handsome!”

The actress praised Pattinson’s effort to manage two jobs at the same time.

“What surprised me was his dedication. He would film all weekend long, then spend the week on the Twilight [set], then another weekend filming, then more Twilight… And he still had that lightness, humility. He’s very grateful for everything he’s been living.”
