Archive for the ‘Headlines & Rumors’ Category« Robert Pattinson New ‘Bel Ami’ Set Interview Video With Yahoo OMG! | Reese Talks About Robert During An Interview »Mathieu Amalric Mentions Robert Pattinson In Cosmopolis In fact, Almaric — best-known to American audiences through his roles in “Munich, “Le Scaphandre et le Papillion” (“The Diving Bell and the Butterfly”), and “Quantum of Solace,” has been a director longer than he’s been an actor. As a teenager, he took a job as a trainee AD on Louis Malle’s “Au Revoir les Enfants” and he won Best Director at Cannes in 2010 for “Tournee.” He has also worked with some of France’s best directors, of course — among them Arnaud Desplechin and Alain Resnais – and he’ll next be seen in David Cronenberg’s forthcoming “Cosmopolis,” playing a “pastry assassin” who creams Robert Pattinson in the face as part of his mission to sabotage power and wealth worldwide. Almaric sat down with The Playlist to talk about his philosophies on- and off-screen, and why he feels an actor is “nothing.” As the pastry assassin, you get to throw a pie in Robert Pattinson’s face and then give a six-page monologue. Cronenberg is very close to the book. And Rob is a great guy. Yeah, yeah — it’s a tough scene. I had to speak in English, and Cronenberg shot it in one sequence, where you do the whole scene in one shot. It was very physical, and I spoke so much. And you’re afraid, because it’s Cronenberg! [Laughs] But you manage to learn your lines, and I’m always surprised when I manage to be able to say the words in complete order, you know? I don’t know how it’s possible. But I think it’s going to be an amazing film, especially because he shot it in order, exactly as it happens in the book, about a man who gets broken. Source: Indie Wire Robert Pattinson New ‘Bel Ami’ Set Interview Video With Yahoo OMG! Robert Pattinson may have found fame playing the sweet and sensitive Edward Cullen in ‘Twilight’, but omg! can reveal the real-life Rob has a penchant for bad-boy behaviour. Oooh! The gorgeous actor told us exclusively exactly what he got up while filming upcoming movie ‘Bel Ami’ and we were pretty shocked with his response! Robert said ”I liked fighting and drinking in Budapest [laughs].” We think he meant while in character filming scenes in the Hungarian capital, but maybe this is what he got up to after hours. Rob in a fight? We can only hope this was over us! Talk turned to what drew him to his latest on-screen venture and how it differed to ‘Twilight’. • Read full story » Christina Ricci Talks About Robert Pattinson He is one of the most bankable, handsome film stars in the world, and a household name having starred most famously as hunky Edward Cullen in the box office-storming Twilight series, and as Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter films. Yet Christina Ricci knew almost nothing about Robert Pattinson, and had seen none of his movies, when they met on the set of the new erotic drama Bel Ami. However, they still hit it off like old friends and turned a sometimes difficult film shoot into a fun-filled frolic. “We would just goof off and laugh while we were working,” says Christina, 32. “He’s a sweet guy and super funny… and a really good kisser.” It was therefore easy for her to understand why Rob’s girlfriend, Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart, paid so many visits to the set. • Read full story » Uma Thurman praises Pattinson’s acting abilities Uma Thurman has praised her ‘Bel Ami’ co-star Robert Pattinson for his acting ability. The 25-year-old actor became very involved for his role as 19th century Parisienne womaniser Georges Duroy for the film, and Uma insists he is constantly working hard to bring his skills up to the “next level.” In an interview with Stylist magazine, she said: “He’s very serious. He did a huge amount of rehearsals in his own time. I think that’s what you do when you’re a young actor, when you take your work very seriously and want to take it to the next level.” • Read full story » Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod Talks About Robert Pattinson The stellar cast didn’t come free but they did come cheap. Bel-Ami is, in Donnelan’s phrase, “an easyJet film”, with a paltry budget of around £7.5 million, Budapest standing in for Paris on 10 days of the eight-week shoot. Everyone worked for less than their usual pay cheque, including Pattinson. “He read the novel and also a book I wrote about acting,” says Donnellan, 59, “and he insisted on four weeks of one-on-one rehearsal before we shot anything, which is unheard of in Hollywood. He wants to expand as an actor and he takes it very seriously. He has genuinely never said anything negative about Twilight but no one wants to be in a franchise for ever.” Pattinson clearly relished the chance to stamp on the romantic image of Edward Cullen, and Ormerod’s camera picks up something lizardly and quite ruthless in his handsome features. “He was determined to keep it tough,” says Ormerod.“That’s why he did it,” adds Donnellan. “He said, ‘I’m playing a character with no redeeming features’.” Source: The Evening Standard Christina Ricci Talks About Robert Pattinson To Irish Times The fragrant Robert Pattinson plays the cynical accidental journalist whose adventures drive the plot of Bel Ami. They must have had some interesting conversations about the pressures that early success can bring. There are few idols more hotly pursued than the star of the Twilight films. “He’s wonderful,” she says. “He’s handling everything very well. He never brought any of what he was going through to the set. He was always incredibly well prepared, very professional and a very great actor. I loved working with him. We joked a lot. Made fun of each other and had a great laugh.” Did she have advice for him? “Not really. He seems to be handling it all very well. I can’t imagine being as famous as he is.” Source: Irish Times Robert Pattinson New Interview with “The Sunday Times” “The world’s favourite vampire is in Berlin for a whirlwind visit and, true to bloodsucking type, Robert Pattinson isn’t eating. Tonight, he will do the red-carpet thing for the world premiere of his new film, Bel Ami, but in the private hotel lounge allocated for this interview — “This is classy,” he comments as he strolls in — he barely makes a dent in the chicken salad he has ordered, despite his professed hunger. Pattinson isn’t known for playing characters who do much smiling or laughing, either, so the first thing to notice is how readily he does both in person. Decked out in a black-grey ensemble and sporting a new cropped haircut under his black cap, he has barely sat down, with a pack of Camels by his side, before he’s folded up in mirth, talking about the KitKatClub, a notorious Berlin sex joint, and his desire to patronise it with his family. Is he joking? I hope not. “I was telling my dad about it last night, and he sounded really into it. ‘I’m coming over — let’s go to the orgy club.’ ” The 25-year-old actor has been to Berlin many times. One of the best holidays he ever had was a stay in the east when he was 17, “before it was so gentrified”, frequenting bars that took up illegal residence in abandoned buildings. Such footloose times are seemingly in the past for the star of Twilight, although his desire to hit the KitKatClub may indicate otherwise. The other observation to make is that Pattinson is a very handsome man, but his face is less wide and flat than the camera makes it appear. And there are enough imperfections to separate him from the standard Hollywood pretty boy. • Read full story » Sam Claflin Talks About Kristen, Rob & Marcus Foster Connection Sam Claflin is one of Kristen Stewart’s two leading men in the upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman, which hits theaters June 1. We stopped by the London set of SWATH in October to sit down with the cast and crew and learn a little bit more about the highly anticipated dark retelling of a classic fairy tale. Sam, who plays Prince William in the film, is relatively new to the big screen after making his debut in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides last year. While on the SWATH set, Sam shared this cute story about having the same taste in music as Kristen and a connection they made through a favorite singer:
Source: Pop Sugar “Cosmopolis” To Be Promoted @ Berlin Film Festival Canadian producers are riding a surge of industry buzz and critical kudos at the European Film Market with hopes that a slate of pics from seasoned Canuck helmers and newcomers will keep the momentum going in 2012. At the forefront is Telefilm Canada, which brings its sixth edition of Perspective Canada to the mart. The federally operated film funder will showcase a selection of features for the market, including David Cronenberg’s “Cosmopolis” and Sarah Polley’s “Take This Waltz.” “We’re in a very positive wave of cinema right now with the successes we’ve had internationally,” said Sheila de la Varende, director of industry promotion at Telefilm. “That creates recognition and anticipation in the marketplace for Canadian films.” • Read full story » “Breaking Dawn: Part 2″ Trailer To Debut on March 23rd with “The Hunger Games” Posted on Feb 11, 2012 by Angelic
Categories: 'Breaking Dawn: Part 2' • Headlines & Rumors | 0 comment The trailer for the fifth and final “Twilight” movie, “Breaking Dawn Part 2,” will debut exclusively on “The Hunger Games” in March – the first significant example of synergy between Lions Gate Entertainment and its new subsidiary Summit Entertainment. When the studio acquired Summit in January, Lions Gate executives touted the opportunities that would come from bringing together two of Hollywood’s hottest young adult franchises. Because fans tend to get excited about seeing the first trailer for a highly anticipated sequel, Lions Gate is betting it can bring the huge base of “Twilight” fans to the opening weekend of “The Hunger Games,” which debuts March 23. “‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2′ trailer will debut exclusively on every ‘Hunger Games’ print on its opening night for what will be Lions Gate’s largest release ever,” Santa Monica-based Lions Gate’s chief executive Jon Feltheimer said on a conference call with analysts Friday following the release of its financial results.
