Robert Pattinson Metro UK Interview
Posted on May 04, 2011 by Grace
Categories: 'Water for Elephants'Headlines & RumorsInterview | 0 comment

Twilight star Robert Pattinson talks to Metro about life as one of the world’s hottest heart-throbs plus working with Reese Witherspoon in his latest film Water For Elephants.

What do you miss about Britain now you live in LA?

I miss the light in London, which is different to anywhere, and also the smell of the city. I miss getting pints in pubs. I miss the newspapers – I still prefer English newspapers to US ones – I miss reading the sport section. I miss the football… Arsenal.

How do you deal with fame?

Actually, I was thinking the other day that no one ever rings me up. No one ever asks me to do anything, so it’s kind of easy. And I’m working all the time anyway. But when I’m not working, I’m still one of those people who calls up every name in his entire phonebook to say: ‘Hey, what you doing? Are you doing anything tonight? Can I come with you?’

What was it like starring opposite Reese Witherspoon in epic love story Water For Elephants?

You actually played her son in Vanity Fair a few years ago. That was my first ever job. I was 16 and she was the same then as she is now: lovely. At that time, I didn’t know what I was doing. I got the job by accident. It was nice working with her this time. I’ve met her a couple times through the years and she’s always great. She has an aura of good energy that she puts out to everyone.

How did you land the role in Water For Elephants?

Francis Lawrence, the director, said he wanted to have a meeting and he took me out to the elephant sanctuary where Tai [who plays Rosie the elephant] lives and I saw her doing a handstand and stayed there for about four hours playing catch with her. I would literally throw a ball and she would catch it in her trunk and throw it back to me, and I was like: ‘OK, even if this movie is the worst movie ever made, I get to work with this elephant for three or four months. I’m definitely doing it.’

Robert Pattinson NRJ12 Interview
Posted on May 04, 2011 by Grace
Categories: Headlines & RumorsInterviewVideo Updates | 0 comment

Christoph: Ladies and gentelmen, there’s a movie…

NRJ: There’s not just one but a whole load. It’s called le mag ciné and it starts now.

Vin: I’m happy.

Rob: Featured in this magazine…

Small French course for the Hollywood celebrities promoting in our lovely country.

Vin: Incredible!

It’s neither for the pretty girls or the good wine that they’re visiting us, right, Rob?

Rob: *laughs*

New movies will be talked about as well as the new dvds out this week.

[Go to 4:04.]

The movie of the week is without any doubt Water For Elephants. A romantic tale set during the Depression in a circus. We can find the beautiful Robert Pattinson hired in a circus troop, who’s going to fall in love with the captivating star of the show, Reese Witherspoon, who’s promised to the head of the circus, played by Christoph Waltz.
A dangerous love triangle.

Rob: Once upon a time, there was a boy who loved a girl … who loved. Why is my French accent so bad now?

NRJ: Oh it’s not that bad, Rob. Three talented actors, all reunited under a big top, surrounding the star of the circus, an elephant.

New Robert & Reese Interview with Nikos
Posted on May 03, 2011 by Grace
Categories: Headlines & RumorsInterview | 0 comment

Nikos: We met Robert Pattinson with Mustafa, all three of us. Did you like him, Karin?

Karin: What I liked about him… you mean physically? Because what I liked the most was that he was so simple. He came with his can of Coke and started smoking at the window. He talked with us like we were friends.

Nikos: You wanna be friends with him, yes.

Karin: What shocked me was the role that made him famous, the vampire role. He’s so pale. He’s really white.

Nikos: It’s normal, he’s a vampire.
He wasn’t alone, he was with Reese Witherspoon, who’s not that hot really but she’s really nice. She’s a great actress, I mean she got an Oscar.
Soon we will talk with him about French artists, French actors that he knows and would like to work with. We played the Taboo game with him. You’ll see that he has a sense of humor. We also talked about his movie projects, the scripts he refused and if he regrets some.

Mufasa: It was a nice interview.

Nikos: Yes. But for now let’s talk Oscars. Listen to the preview of Robert Pattinson’s interview.
Where did you put your Oscar, Reese?

Reese: In my living room.

Karin: Does it change everything or does it cause problems when you get one?

Reese: No, I mean, I think it’s helpful in some ways. Some directors think of you in a way they didn’t before.

Nikos: What kind of prizes do you have in your living room, Rob?

Rob: I have, like, a little badge from a film festival, for a movie I did years ago. It’s like Germany gets a birthday badge…

Robert Interview with Elpais.com

Too Perfect Man
Robert Pattinson, rich and vampirized by the Twilight Saga tries to escape it by jumping into a traveling circus. In Water for Elephants he lands in Tai’s arms, the most famous paquiderm in Hollywood.

One can’t go far enough. From here to the ocean. There’s nothing farther than Santa Monica. In this California beach where the American continent ends on the West one can’t smoke either. Robert Pattinson is dying to smoke a cigarette, a natural American spirit that he likes, identifying mark of a young Hollywood star. A small sing of his rebellion against an anti-tobacco world. The same rebelliousness as his signature hair, which the British actor does not stop messing with, that shows his nervousness. Let’s not kid ourselves, Pattison would rather not be here. Doing interviews is not his thing, but he has no choice. I am not kidnapping him nor is Hollywood holding him captive: he is victim of his own fame. The Edward Cullen of the Twilight Saga, for whom Twihards, which his fans go by, kiss the floor, does not know where to hide. Neither to smoke or breathe. During filming of his latest film, the first of his new life,Water for Elephants, Pattinson had to change hotels six times in Los Angeles. He’s not picky, he just couldn’t even get into his room without being harassed. “I dream of the day in which I can have a house without fear of someone getting in without being invited,” he says like a true vampire, someone who’s lived out of a suitcase since fame knocked on his door in 2008. From within his desperation, Pattinson says it with a smile; he’s happy with his life. He is amongst the 15 most important Hollywood stars according to Vanity Fair and his earnings in 2010 reached $27.5 million. The saga in which he stars has earned $1.100 million worldwide. There’s still more films left. But everything has a price and Pattinson has sold himself at a high price. Or at least everything it conveys. Like, for example, being the most wanted man on the planet. “An achievement with great meaning,” he says with a hint of sarcasm that his British accent gives every conversation. “It’s taken me a lot of work to achieve it,” he utters with a grin from ear to ear. “It’s one of those thing one has no control over. The same things as with awards or criticism, everything that surrounds us,” he tries to explain. An “us” that refers of Hollywood, not the Fairmount Miramar we are at. “Like I heard from Baredem one day, the dangerous part of receiving awards is that you start to believe it,” he affirms.

He doesn’t think too much of himself. On the contrary, Pattinson is of a much more animated character, a jokester and jovial, than the vampire he has made famous, that spends his life suffering between existing and not, passion and abstinence, life and death. No. Pattinson only resembles his alter ego in beauty, perfect pale skin, juicy lips, deep eyes and a perfect body he is embarrassed to show off. “I would spend my life eating hamburgers,” he comments talking about his invisible fat. At 25 on May 13th, whether he tries to or not, his only problem is being too perfect. At least like Edward Cullen. A serious problem because, nearing the end of a saga whose last book has been split into two to further explore this phenomenon where popular culture and marketing go hand in hand, the only question is, “now what?” He shrugs his shoulders.

Robert Pattinson Cherie FM Interview Translation
Posted on May 02, 2011 by Grace
Categories: 'Water for Elephants'Headlines & RumorsInterview | 0 comment

Frederick: Here we are today with the movie of the week, Water For Elephants. I met the beautiful blonde who worked hard on this movie. Things getting done by themselves, right, Reese?

Reese: Yes, I trained for almost 5 months to familiarize myself with the circus world/work. But it was really fun. Everyday, I told myself how ml lucky I was to do this as my work.

Frederick: Couldn’t agree more. The heroes of the movie will be with us until 9am. This was Reese Witherspoon for Water For Elephants.

Frederick: There’s this guy named Robert Pattinson who, between two flying trapezes, an elephant and a radiant Reese, will find his way. The story takes place in a circus, and I asked Robert what he thought of teh atmosphere on the set and what happened backstage. The answer now.

Robert: It was a relaxed atmosphere. Usually, on movie’s sets like Twilight, we had a specific and closed relaxing area, you have cameras and crew everywhere. Here, it was really fun and…

Frederick: That is cool, and it’s going to be cool to watch.

Frederick: In the movie, Robert Pattinson loses his parents and his bearings as well, but all of the sudden, he gets a new start, thanks to a train. Our British boy doesn’t forget his royal England, its new princely couple and his buses.

Robert: I remember when I was younger and still living in London, I had to take the bus to get around. Then, I told myself, in the future, I will only ride in cabs, even to go to the grocery store. With my career, it’s been 3 years, maybe 5 since I took teh bus. I look at them with nostalgia now. I love public transportation.

Frederick: This Rob fella is pretty nice.

Frederick: You’re going to love this movie. It comes out Wednesday.
Reese trained for 5 months to tame the animals … and men.

Reese: I thought it was a really interesting role to play. A woman in the 1930s. She had no education, no family, her husband was her onlt way out. She didn’t have the choice. I liked the idea to be in the shoes of a woman who would risk everything for another man.

Frederick: I asked Robert how he choses his scripts, whether it was for movies like Twilight or this one.

Robert: I always send scripts to my parents because I like their ideas, but it’s funny how sometimes they have really strange opinions. I have very few people that I care about on whether they like something I plan on doing or not. It’s just my family and a small group of friends. I can awlays tell whether something is really good or not by their reactions.

Frederick: Hi Rob, you’re here with us, right?

Robert: Hello, I’m Robert Pattinson. I’m here with Frederick Ferrer on Chérie FM.

Frederick: I asked them, since she’s American and he’s English, about French kiss. Definition of the word by Reese first.

Reese: A kiss with tongue *laughs*.

Frederick: Okay, okay. Rob?

Robert: I don’t know because a lot of people think a french kiss is a kiss that is way too much.

Frederick: There you have it! Water For Elephants comes out Wednesday, you’ll get to see American kisses.

Robert Pattinson Chats With ElMundo.es Interview
Posted on May 02, 2011 by Grace
Categories: Headlines & RumorsInterview | 3 comments

1. Your character in Water for Elephants share something with your character in Twilight, love. Jacob wants to offer a better life Reese’s character even if it means sacrificing himself. What would you be willing to do for love?
It depends. It is a difficult question. Love usually flows freely, with some exceptions.

2. Hi Rob, first I’d like to welcome you to our country. I read the book “water for elephants” over the weekend, fell in love with the character your portray and the story. One of my biggest concerns is whether the script was closely adapted from the book or have there been big changes made. Best regards from a twilight-mom, fan of yours and of Edward Cullen. Hope you have a good time these days and you take away good memories of our country.
I think it’s very close. There are a couple of characters in the book that are not in the script. And there are good changes in my opinion. The book tells of a rather dark circus, but the circus of the film is brighter with more light.

3. Having been presenting “Water for Elephants” in various cities around the world, where have you encountered the roudiest fans? the most affectionate? Thank you very much, I admire your work, your smile and your sympathy. Do not change :)
Certainly there are many differences. Speaking of fans in Spain, they get very excited and transmit a lot of energy.

4. “Are you ever gonna take a vacation between projects? You need to rest too … Ana, Madrid
I hope so. But I will not be able to do in the coming months.

5. The performance I most enjoyed was that of Salvador Dali in LittleAshes. What place does it hold for you?

It was important. He’s a fascinating character. For me it was the first role that I really got into.

6. Do you consider yourself an enigmatic guy? “I do think you are, you’re perfect.
I used to think it was. The more people know you, the less enigmatic you are.

7. Of the Twilight series, what was the movie that you liked best to film and why?
I think the first. It was the most fun to shoot. The second also because there wasn’t as much craziness yet…

8. Is it coincidence that most of his films are based on best sellers, does that give you security when accepting a script? Thanks. Ana Pastrana.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s gonna do well because it’s based on a bestseller.

9. The first thing to greet you and congratulate you on your success, I think you’re a great actor and professional. In this new film, Water for Elephants Have you ever had a scene that for a moment thought I was going to be impossible to interpret? Maybe a stunt, or a scene that made you feel personally uncomfortable. Thank you very much Robert.
The final scene in the script seemed totally impossible. It took a long time to shoot.

10. What do you like doing in your spare time?
I hardly ever have any free time, but when I do, I like to do nothing. Nothing special.
