Robert Pattinson Getting Last Laugh For ‘Remember Me’ Pretty boy “Twilight” star Robert Pattinson got a little roughed up by the film critics for his movie “Remember Me,” with Emilie de Ravin. But Rob may be getting the last laugh now that the box office numbers are rolling in. “Remember Me,” about a troubled youth attempting to deal with tragedy, is slowly working its way around the world, opening in such far flung country as Argentina and Australia. So far, the film has grossed $45.7 million at the box office, which obviously isn’t anything close to 3-D blockbuster “Avatar’s” billion dollar plus take. But “Remember Me” only cost $16 million to bring to the big screen. • Read full story » New Robert Pattinson ‘Remember Me’ Still I’ve added new still of Robert in ‘Remember Me’ movie to the gallery. Robert Pattinson’s REMEMBER ME Crosses $45 Million Mark Worldwide: Box Office Robert Pattinson’s Remember Me opened in Argentina, France and several other European countries this weekend, landing at #6 in Paris and its suburbs. The romantic drama’s international weekend take was $4.7 million at 2,302 screens in 36 territories. The international total currently stands at $27 million. Remember Me, which cost $16 million, has thus far grossed $18.7 million in North America. Worldwide total: $45.7 million. Up to April 4, the film’s top foreign markets — no doubt thanks to Robert Pattinson’s Twilight Saga-propelled stardom — were Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States, $3.15m; Italy, $2.35m; Germany, $1.9m; Brazil, $1.71m; the UK/Ireland/Malta, $1.5m; Australia, $1.21m (up to Mar. 28); and Spain, $1.1m. • Read full story » Tate Ellington Talks Rob & ‘Remember Me’ Q: Tell us a little about auditioning for “Remember Me” to being on set to now seeing it on the big screen. A: The audition process for “Remember Me” was a nightmare. I had to go in four separate times over the course of a few months. The first time I went in I didn’t think I was right for the part, I had only read half the script and I forgot my sides. I was off to a great start. I was told that I had done great, but they were going to try and find a “name” in L.A. If they didn’t find a name then I would be in the running. I figured that was it, and put it out of my mind. A month later, I got a call that I would be coming back in for the director. I thought the director hated me. I thought I was doing so badly that I almost got and apologized for wasting everybody’s time. Turns out he loved me. A few weeks later I went to meet Rob and do a screen test with him. Luckily, I was performing on Broadway at the time so I could relax a little bit because I new I had a paycheck. Rob was great! The screen test went wonderfully. The director and producer loved me, but Summit still wasn’t sold. I had to go back in a few later to sort of hash out what I would do with the character. The director fought for me and eventually I got the job. It is strange to see it out there. It is completely out of your hands now. It’s an odd feeling. I am extremely proud to have been a part of it. I have read most of the comments and reviews about it. I am so thankful that they love it or hate it — that people are actually talking about it. I love that people actually have an opinion about it and a strong one at that. We caught up with Robert, his co-star Emilie de Ravin and one of the film’s producers Nick Osborne as they discussed the making of one of this year’s finest films. Robert Pattinson had been looking for a new direction between Twilight sequels and literally read hundreds of scripts before picking Remember Me. He liked the naturalistic dialogue of the story and how the story dealt with grief. He also noted that this character starts and ends the movie as pretty much the same guy- it was a young part devoid of the usual Hollywood transitions when everything ties up nicely at the end. He joked that he doesn’t really like anything so picking a next project was easy. He clearly isn’t driven by money either so when the opportunity for Remember Me came along, he knew it was the right project. Robert also feels like these types of movies aren’t around very much today and saw a gap in the market to do such a narrative. • Read full story » Entertainment Focus Reviews ‘Remember Me’ Cast: Robert Pattinson, Emilie de Ravin, Pierce Brosnan, Lena Olin, Chris Cooper Tyler Hawkins (Robert Pattinson – Twilight) is a young man struggling to find direction in life. He comes from a wealthy background but doesn’t get along with his father Charles (Pierce Brosnan – Die Another Day). Because of this Tyler decides to live away from his influence and money. His family are still grieving from the suicide of his older brother a few years back and it’s something that still haunts Tyler every day. Through a twist of fate, Tyler gets introduced to Ally (Emilie de Ravin – Lost) a confident young woman who attends the same university as him and who is also dealing with her own inner demons. Tyler and Ally soon embark on a relationship, one which they both weren’t looking for but one that could ultimately save them both. • Read full story » Robert Won’t Attend Paris ‘Remember Me’ Premiere Earlier this week, word began spreading on twitter that Rob and Emilie would be attending the Paris premiere of ‘Remember Me’ April 6. The rumors began when French online movie site Allocine, posted a contest to win tickets to the premiere Tuesday. @Moonmela has received confirmation that indeed Rob will not be attending the Paris premiere. Melanie emailed the film’s distributor (SND).

(Australia and Bulgaria, March 21.) After being greeted by mixed-to-negative reviews, Remember Me has earned a total of $17.7 million in the United States/Canada up to April 1. Its worldwide cume currently stands at about $28.2 million — actually more than that; as stated above, international figures are one week behind. The winner of 2010′s Most Completely Wackadoo Film Ending has been found. Robert Pattinson’s Remember Me – a teen-pleasing, low-key indie romance with one of the most demented final twists ever. I’m not going to reveal what it is here. And after much chin-stroking I’m not convinced – as many reviewers from the US of A are – that it’s evil, amoral and cheap. It’s just such a jaw-droppingly WEIRD decision that it’ll turn off a fair portion of the audience in one slow zoom-out. The film kicks off in 1991, with a harrowing scene in which a young girl sees her mum gunned down on the subway by two muggers. • Read full story » « Older Entries
